Why Monty's
Monty's Dog Walking Service grew from something personal. Monty was our dog — patient, funny, and particular about who he trusted. We named this business in his memory, and the standard we hold ourselves to is simple: we care for your pet the way we cared for him.
We're a family team based in Welwyn Village. Lily, Francesca and Megan have grown up around animals and between them cover solo walks, group walks, training, pop ins and overnights. Every client is local, every booking is handled personally.
Every walk we do is in memory of the dog who started this. Monty taught us what it looks like when an animal truly trusts you — and that's the bar we hold every single visit to.

Our services
All services are provided by insured, trained and DBS-checked members of our family team. Prices on request — every dog and situation is different, so we prefer to have a proper conversation first.
Your dog, one of us, and a proper walk. No rushing to keep up with a group, no distractions that aren't right for your dog's temperament. We'll walk the same regular routes so your dog knows where they are, or explore new ones if that's what they enjoy.
Ideal for dogs who are nervous around other dogs, reactive on the lead, or who simply prefer company without the crowd. Also great for older dogs with mobility issues — we go at their pace, not ours.

Small, carefully matched groups for dogs who love company. We keep numbers low so every dog gets proper attention and we can manage group dynamics properly. Dogs are matched on size, temperament and energy — we won't put a reactive dog in a group walk.

Practical, reward-based training focused on the things that matter in everyday life: walking nicely on the lead, coming back when called, staying calm at the door. We work with your dog's natural behaviour rather than against it.
Training sessions can be standalone or woven into regular walks. We'll give you simple techniques to practise between sessions so progress continues at home.

A visit to your home to feed, check on and spend time with your pet while you're out. We'll let you know how the visit went and flag anything that needs attention. Available for dogs, cats and small animals.
Day sits are longer stays — we come to your home and spend the day there so your pet is never alone for long. Good for pets who don't travel well or who are more comfortable in their own environment.

We stay at your home overnight, or your pet comes to stay with us. Either way, someone is there through the night. No kennels, no crates unless that's your pet's preference, and no leaving them alone in an unfamiliar place.
We'll keep to your pet's usual routine as closely as possible — same feeding times, same walks, same sleeping arrangements. We want your pet barely to notice you're gone.

About us
We started Monty's as a family — and it's still a family business. Every booking goes through one of us personally, and every animal in our care gets our full attention.
Our story
Monty was our dog. He was patient and funny and completely himself — and he was particular about who he trusted, in the way only a really good dog is. We named this business in his memory, and the standard we hold every visit to is the standard we held ourselves to with him.
We're based in Welwyn Village and we cover the surrounding area. Lily, Francesca and Megan make up the walking and sitting team. Between us we've been around dogs and cats our whole lives.
We don't take on more clients than we can look after properly. We'd rather be the best option for a few families than a mediocre option for many. If we're at capacity, we'll tell you honestly and help you find someone else we trust.

Every member of the team is insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained. Your pet will get to know the same faces.
